K2 AS

Scanbio K2 AS was established in 2010 and started it’s production in a new production facility at Scanbio Lysøysund into the new year in 2011.

Scanbio K2 AS is located in Lysøysund in Bjugn municipality, Sør-Trøndelag.

For over 20 years Scanbio has assisted the aquaculture industry with logistics and receipt of category-2 by-products (dead fish silage). Over the years we have built up an excellent and comprehensive logistics system that provides the aquaculture industry along the coast, very good service in terms of taking care of the category-2 by-products.

Scanbio K2 AS meets the requirements of the by-product regulation, including hygienisation, and the plant will be able to produce high-grade products (oil and protein) for use in energy production and as raw material for the production of food to non-food producing animals. Currently the factory’s capacity of receiving and processing silage is approx. 50 000 tons per year.
