Bjugn AS

  • Scanbio Bjugn AS, former Bjugn Industrier AS, was established in 1984 and is today a dominant operator within the processing of category-3 ensiled by-products from fish farming in Norway
     
  • Scanbio Bjugn AS is located in Bjugnfjorden in Bjugn municipality, Sør-Trøndelag. Bjugnfjorden is a fjord where fishing and processing of herring has occurred since the Middle Ages.
     
  • Scanbio Bjugn AS produces protein concentrate, protein meal and oil from category-3 ensiled by-products from the fish farming industry. The factory’s capacity of receiving and processing silage is 110,000 tons per year. The silage is collected from slaughterhouses and processing plants throughout the Norwegian coast.
     
  • Scanbio Bjugn AS also supports the fish farming industry with the acceptance of ensiled category-2 products (see Scanbio K2 AS).
